32nd annual Command Inter-house athletic competition: Stallion house emerge champion

Stallion house emerged the winner of the 32nd annual inter-house athletic competition organized by Command Secondary School, Ibadan, on Saturday, 29, February 2020.

Stallion house garnered 18 golds, 8 silvers and 2 bronzes to emerge the champion while Tiger house finished with 9 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes to become second. The interhouse sports was held at the renovated Gen. JM Inienger sporting complex CSSI.

Dragon house became third after they earned 5 golds, 13 silvers and 8 bronzes. Hippopotamus finished as the fourth position with 5 golds, 7 silvers and 11 bronzes.

Rhinoceros house settled for the fifth position after they finished with 4 golds, 4 silvers and 10 bronzes. 


Sporting activities like Relay race, 800m, 1500m 4×400m, 100m for both boys and girls heralded the games that the athletes involved themselves.


Others invited schools like Command day secondary school from Ijebu Ode, Odogbo, Ede and neighbouring secondary schools part took in the competition.

Parents and dignitaries which included the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Ibadan Major. Gen. AB Omozoje, the school's Commandant Col. Usman. A. Ndana were entertained by the artistry display by the students.

While delivering his speech, the school's Commandant Col. Usman. A. Ndana appreciated all the participants, parents and well wishers for their presence, requesting for support in bid to raise the standard sporting activities in the school.

"We therefore, call on all of you for the sustenance of your support, so that, together we can reach the promise land in our bid at raising the standard of sporting activities I this institution."He said.

The Chairman Parent Teachers' Association, (P.T.A) Dr. Adeshina Adio said that sports activities help the students to develop their mental alertness.
