Dansol high school comeback to retain Lagos private school proprietor's cup

The Dansol high school came back from a goal down to retain the 5th edition of Lagos private secondary schools football tournament, tagged 'Proprietor Cup' as they defeated Ronik comprehensive college, 2-1 in the finals.

The match played yesterday at Landmark sports field in Ikorodu witnessed lively ambience as the students defy the scorching sun to decide the winner of the tournament.

After 25 minutes of good exchange, Ronik comprehensive college player Favour Nnofe broke the deadlock as he gave his side the lead before the end of the first half.

10 minutes after resumption to the second half, Dansol bounced back as Olamide Amole-Adam who won the highest goal scorer of the tournament replied with a goal via free kick to level the score.

13 minutes later, Dansol high school took advantage of the defensive errors at the box of their opponent as Fikunayomi Kareem doubled the goal to hand his school the cup again.

Ronik comprehensive college could have salvaged their second lost in the finals but lost the opportunity to equalise at the death of the second half.

Speaking with the coach of Dansol High school, Mr. Bremer, an ex international, he said he felt excited for being the winner.

"I will say I am very fortunate and not only that the school has produced a lot of good players. From last year tournament, we have tried to amend players to put them in various position. 

"So this school that we win, it is not easy either, is a very good school with good players. My voice is cracky I have to shout to the top of voice to wake them up. So we are very lucky." He said.

However, he urged students with the ambition to choose football as a career to pay more attention with their academics.

"Stay focus on education because people is just for a limited time and for those who want to furthermore to play football, after their high school, they can do that." He said.
