African Basketball League: Rivers Hoopers face northern sides

 

Nigeria continental representative Rivers Hoopers have been drawn against northern sides in the inaugural edition of the FIBA African Basketball League
The draw ceremony for the inaugural edition of the FIBA Africa Basketball League was held over the weekend at Hotel Pullman, in the Ivorian capital city of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
They will trade tackles against As Sale(MAR), JS Kairouan(TUN) and SLAC(GUI) in group A.
Also, another Nigeria representative Civil defender will face ES Rades(TUN), Elan BBC(BEN), and BC Terreur(COD) in group B.
Among the 16 teams for the Round of 16, they were divided into 4 groups of 4 each, and the competition will be played in a round-robin format with each team taking on its 3 opponent respectively.
The schedule of the FIBA Africa Basketball League, 2019 is as follows: The first window will hold from February 8 and end 10 2019. Also the second window is from February 15-17. 2019.
The third window will be opened March 1-3 2019 and fourth window March 8-10 2019.
The clubs that finish in the top 2 teams from each group advance to the Elite 8, where clubs will be divided into four groups of 2 teams each.
The Elite 8 will mark the start of the knock-out stage, and it will run from March 22 to April 14. At this stage of the competition teams will play home-and-away games.
The four winners from Elite 8 will advance to the FINAL 4 to be played from May 3-5.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Group A: As Sale(MAR), Rivers Hoopers(NGR), JS Kairouan(TUN) and SLAC(GUI)

Group B: ES Rades(TUN), Elan BBC(BEN), Civil Defenders(NGR), and BC Terreur(COD)

Group C: Al Ahly(EGY), Primeiro de Agosto(ANG), Ferroviario da Beira(MOZ)  and REG(RWA)

Group D: Petro Atletico(ANG), COSPN(MAD), BC Mazembe(COD) and Smouha(EGY)
