CBN Tennis Junior Championship: 9-years old Indian Soham Bhardwaj upsets after loss

An Indian 9 years old boy Soham Bhardwaj got angry after he lost to Yohanna Yakubu from Abuja in the quarterfinals of the on going CBN Tennis Junior Championship, played at the National Stadium, Lagos.

After the match, it took the intervention of his coach to calm his nerves as he refused to speak to anyone.

Yakubu who got the semi final ticket, in an interview with Sportxvibe.blogspot.com said the victory was so easy, adding that he want to emerge the champion of the tournament.

In the female category for under 12, Olaniyan Adesewa who lost to Ndidi Osagi 12-14, 8-10 in the quarterfinal said she will not rest on her oars to win become the champion in the next edition.

"I am going to improve on my games, I am still under pressure but one day, I will be like Serena William and I believe by the time I feature in this competition by God grace next year, I will be the champion." She said.


Speaking with her coach, Mr. Olaniyan Adeyemi, he said the competition was an eye opener for his prodigy, adding it a platform for young ones to show their God-given talents.

He said he will improve on her tactics, stressing that the future is bright for her.

"Competition like this, if we have something like this 6 times in year, Nigeria will produce good players." He said.

The semi finals take place tomorrow at the National Stadium.
