Laspotech tennis club to hold 3-days training for juniors

The Lagos State Polytechnic (Laspotech) tennis club is set to organize a 3-days Junior tennis clinic for kids within Ikorodu and its environ. The training is billed to hold from Thursday 25 till Saturday 27 July 2019.

In a chat with sportxvibe.blogspot.com, the club's captain Mr. Olaniyan Adeyemi, he said the training is aimed at equipping and exposing the kids to the game of tennis.

Captain Adeyemi added that the training will help to unearth and discover talents that could become a global champion in the game of tennis.

"Definitely, the main objective is to discover another champion. If Asisat Oshoala can come from Ikorodu and Anthony Joshua can come from Sagamu, then another Serena Williams can be discovered in Ikorodu." He said.

To participate, he explained that the entry is free but participants are to show their interest by sending a message to the club's phone contact:08035104976

"For children's participation, admission is free. Members of LASPOTECH Tennis Club agreed to foot the bill. Participants are to send a SMS name, age and gender of participant to 08035104976, and the registration will be done for free." He said.

He revealed that best participants will debut in the annual club's tournament: Rector Cup which is slated to hold in November and feature both in the CBN and SPENCO Junior championship in the year 2020.

"After the clinic, the club is looking at introducing juniors to the annual Rectors cup. So by November outstanding players will feature in the annual competition  this will be the maiden edition for juniors. Next year we have the CBN and SNEPCO championship to participate too." He said.

He appreciated the effort of the club's President Alhaji Abdullateef Awolaja and other members for availing the opportunity for the clinic.

"The president of the club in person of Alhaji Abdullateef Awolaja and all the members of the club are true lovers of tennis. 

"They have given maximum support to the discovery and development of new and young tennis players 

I just want to really appreciate all of them and pray that God's bless them all." He said.
